Parking downtown is easy to find.

You may park in the parking lot directly across from the church on Center Street.  You may also park in the lot on the southwest corner of 8th and Center.

We are a church family who is committed to helping all children THRIVE.

Worshipping as a family helps children witness their whole family giving itself to God. Bringing young children to worship may not always be easy, but it is an essential part of their growth in Christ. Our satisfaction comes in later years when we see them stand in the midst of the church with a strong faith of their own.

As you look around the sanctuary, you will see that young children are very much a part of our worshipping community. We believe that they should be recognized as members of the community of faith and that, like ourselves, they learn by doing.

In order to assist you in the gradual assimilation of your child into the worship experience, nursery worship care is available during all worship services (ask an usher if you need assistance or directions.)

During First Word worship, we offer a family friendly environment complete with rocking chairs, toys, books, and simple snacks for your family’s convenience.

Our Sunday School hour is from 9:45 until 10:45. 

We offer Sunday School for children ages 3 years and up!  Visit our Children’s section to find out more.

First offers many different adults classes!  Click here to view the our current classes.

We have two different services, each with their own unique feel. 

First Word in the Cokesbury Center at 9:00 am is our contemporary service for those that like more modern worship. 

First Tradition at 11:00 am is our classic worship experience in our historic sanctuary.

God loves us just that way we are, and so does First Church. 

You are welcome to come as you are to any of our services, and you are likely to see just about everything.  Although you might see more heels and ties in our traditional services, you are just as likely to see a few pairs of jeans or two!

If you are attending our more contemporary 9:00 AM service, follow the signs to the Cokebury Center. 

If you are attending the traditional 11:00 AM service, follow the signs to the Sanctuary.
