We believe that kids are an essential part of our church family. We are always seeking to make space in our community for kids of all ages and their grown-ups. Look below to see the many ways your child can grow in discipleship here at First United Methodist Church of Downtown Little Rock.

Nursery

Birth - 2 years

Your children are welcomed into our clean, vibrant, loving environment where they will feel happy and safe with our highly trained, experienced staff.  Our babies experience playtime, social time, music, stories and books read to them by our sweet, attentive caregivers.

Where do I go?

Our nursery and toddler rooms are located on the second floor just outside the sanctuary.

Babies (0-18 Months)- Room 245
Toddlers (18-36 Months)- Room 248

Times:

Nurseries are open Sundays from 8:15 am to 12:15 pm and upon reservation for weeknight church events.  

What will my infant or toddler be doing:

Our toddlers, ages 18 months to age 3, have their own Sunday school curriculum and have a weekly, mini Sunday school class with Ms. Abbie and Ms. Sarah in the room adjoining the nursery.  Their class experience includes age appropriate leaflets, stickers and Bible stories read by Ms. Sarah as part of their weekly routine.  We are proud of our low staff to child ratio that allows us to provide individual care and early Bible teaching.  

Our Parent Philosophy

Parents are welcome to visit our nursery anytime! Please get to know your child’s caregiver and feel free to stay for a while and play, if your child is having separation anxiety. For mothers who are nursing, we offer you a private and comfortable nursing room just inside the infant nursery in room 245. Our prayer is that staff and parents working together ensure quality individual care and enhance the communication between young families and the church.

Sunday School

PREK 3- 5th Grade

Our kids gather for Sunday school at 10 am each week. Our younger kids are invited to children’s church during both worship services. Outside of Sunday morning, we offer events, camps, and opportunities for the whole family to grow in faith together. Through this ministry, our kids learn that they are an important part of God’s great big story.

Encouraging our children's exploration of God’s word is such a joy for our staff and volunteers!

First Time? Great! We can't wait to meet you!

Look for the area designated for check-in. An greeter wearing a will meet your family and help you check your kids in. One of our amazing volunteers will also be happy to show you to your kids' rooms and help them feel comfortable. You're welcome to stay as long as you need to.
Saftey is very important to us, and we work hard to protect every child in our care. All our volunteers submit to background checks and we are quick to notify you during services if your child should need you for any reason.
