Help serve a meal at Canvas Community on the 1st Wednesday of every month from 4:45-6. Canvas is a local partner that serves our unhoused neighbors in Downtown Little Rock.

Volunteers and FANN members gather on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month from 4:30pm-5:30pm in the Church Fellowship Hall. Program participants pay $5 to join the program and $3 each meeting for their participation. Members have ownership of the program and are responsible for unloading the truck, distributing food, and meeting for a short community time. Volunteers create a hospitable and welcoming environment in the Church for the members of FANN and assist where needed.

Join FUMCLR and our interfaith friends for a service project on Saturday, February 7, at 2:00 pm at Westover Hills Presbyterian Church. We will be packing meal kits with Hunger Relief Army. The project happens assembly line style, and we make kits of oatmeal, red beans and rice, and more. It is a fun way to meet people across faiths, support values like diversity, and help feed hungry bellies.

Join us for a hands-on morning of service as we partner with Habitat for Humanity on Saturday, May 2, from 8:00 a.m. to noon. This is a meaningful way to help build hope and provide safe, affordable housing for a family in our community. No construction experience is needed—just a willing heart. The build location will be shared closer to the date. We hope you’ll make plans to be part of this day of service together.

Share the gift of grace and dignity by helping our unhoused neighbors with laundry Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday while our Community Café is open. Our neighbors will place their clothes in the provided basket and you will wash them in our laundry van while they relax with a cup of coffee inside.

Have you always wanted to sing but don’t know how?  Do you struggle to sing along with the radio?  Do you think you have a bad voice?  Would you like to join the choir but feel like you can’t  “keep up?”  Are you embarrassed to sing along with hymns?  Shannon is an experienced voice teacher/vocal technician offering free lessons to church members. You do not need to join the choir. Come learn to love your voice!

The Center Street Ringers provides a unique opportunity for participation in the musical life of First United Methodist Church in that they lead worship twice in the Fall and twice in the Spring- an ideal commitment for someone who wants to stretch their creative muscles without boxing themselves into a routine every single Sunday. Handbell ringers are often called upon to ring in other liturgical celebrations such as All Saints or other major feast days where the sound of the bells suggests the presence of the Holy Spirit amongst us.

The First Word Band provides leadership in many forms during the First Word service. Primarily, the band is an ensemble of diverse talents and backgrounds that come together to enjoy acoustic music in a Christian context, but its members are also the primary leaders of the congregation’s participation in other areas as well such as corporate reading or embodied worship elements. The First Word Band serves as a visual example in the front of the space to guide visitors and regular attendees alike into worship flow. In addition, members of the First Word Band are constantly on the lookout for new worship elements such as songs and other artistic expressions to provide a fresh experience to our 9:00 congregation.

The Chancel Choir of First United Methodist Church is so much more than just a group of people that get together and sing. While their primary responsibility is the preparation of anthems and leadership during hymns, they are also the primary leaders of the congregation’s worship participation. The Chancel Choir shows a visitor when to stand and when to sit, the Chancel Choir joyfully leads the people’s part in responsive readings, and the Chancel Choir also functions as a core small group of the church, praying for each other and lifting each other up as they grow spiritually.
