FANN meets at the Church twice a month on the second and fourth Tuesday from 5:30-7:00 to combat food insecurity in downtown LR by providing fresh produce and nutritious foods to low income families. Community is at the heart of FANN. It is a dignified, community building program that offers a “hand-up” rather than a “hand-out.” Program participants pay $5 to be in the program and $3 twice a month for the food. They also sort the food for distribution to all and meet briefly with a speaker or topic for conversation. Started in the Fall of 2014, it was the first program of its kind in Arkansas.
